WELCOME TO THE MFLS CUP WINNERS CUP
The Cup Winners Cup is a tournament featuring winners of various cup competitions created by division managers and others at MFLS. There are 17 tournaments participating in the 2008 Cup Winners Cup. The CWC begins week 24 and concludes in week 30.
The tournament consists of head-to-head, two-leg, elimination rounds leading up to a single game Final.
The seedings for the Cup Winners Cup are determined by the strength of tournament won by each cup winner. At the end of week 21 (the week before the preliminary round was set to begin) the MFLS season point total of the top 5 teams in each tournament were added up to determine each tournaments "Cup Points". The greater the Cup Points, the better the ranking.
MFLS points will be used directly for scoring purposes throughout the tournament. In the two-leg contests, the team with the higher aggregate score will advance. Tie breakers for all rounds will be used in the following order; goals scored, goals allowed by the goal keeper, assists, +/-, and clean halves. If a tie remains after these tie breakers, the team qualifying from the cup with the higher ADPR rating will win. If still tied, the team with the higher MFLS points on the season will advance.
Scores will be posted and made official the day before the MFLS deadline for the following week's rosters. Any scoring corrections by MFLS that take place during head to head cup competitions will be used only if they are made by that time. Corrections made after that will not be used to change the outcome of a match.
